Learner Objectives
Participants will be able to
• Trace the history of the Neurodiversity Movement
• State objections to the Neurodiversity platform
• Explain how Neurodiversity tenets are foundational to much policy and practice affecting people with profound autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Identify three barriers to identity-affirming practices presented by the medical model (ASHA Standard IV-G).
• List at least two roles of a speech-language pathologist to reduce opportunity barriers and advocate for equity and inclusion (ASHA Standard IV-G).
• Describe a minimum of three advantages gained by interprofessional collaboration to support the communities we serve (ASHA Standard IV-D, V-B)
• Describe the reflections of an autistic individual who serves as an advocate for the autism community in the context of the neurodiversity movement
• Describe the positive effects of behaviorally based social skills intervention
Accreditation

ACT48 Credits
PSHA is an approved provider by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to sponsor Continuing Education programs as required by ACT 48. The program is offered for up to 6.5 clock hours. Individuals attending the program must arrive on time and stay the duration of the corresponding time frame of program in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours.

Your registration fee includes beverages in the morning and lunch. Lunch will be served during the career fair.
