Trainer: Mary Jane Rogan, CRNP, Coordinator of Alcohol and Other Drug Programs, West Chester University
Training will be limited to 18 attendees with preference to PASSHE institutions.
Ms. Rogan is a Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of experience with facilitation, training and implementation of the BASICS model. She completed the “train the trainer” workshop with Dr. George Parks in 2006 and has developed and delivered customized workshops in BASICS and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
As successful implementation of BASICS relies on proficiency with MI, this training will focus on motivational interviewing skills with application to the BASICS model. Attendees should have supervision and guidance before beginning to implement BASICS independently.
