ABOUT ABOUT

The Teaching the Holocaust in the Secondary Classroom conference offers activities and strategies that will assist pre-service and beginning secondary English and History teachers with their instruction of the Holocaust.  The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum will provide materials and access to resources for all conference participants. A Teaching Fellow from the Museum will facilitate the program’s interactive content. Mr. Andrew Maraniss, our keynote speaker, will begin the day with a presentation of his newest book, Games of Deception: The True Story of the First U.S. Olympic Basketball Team at the 1936 Olympics in Hitler’s Germany. The conference is sponsored by: the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Program, the Ethnic Studies Institute, the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Education, and the Departments of English and History at West Chester University of PA. The conference organizers and sponsors gratefully acknowledge the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum for its generous funding of this conference.
